The Premiere of Memphis Babylon

Last saturday night at The Hitone was the premiere of Memphis Babylon, white female evil gangsta rapper Chopper Girl's new backing band. The group consists of Scott Taylor (Grifters, Porch Ghouls), Scott Rogers (Dutch Masters, Cool Jerks), Tommy Trouble (Final Solutions), and Joey Pegram (Joint Chiefs, Shabbadoo). The new supergroup, sounding like a more goth-punk version of Peaches, backed Chopper Girl on several songs from the Wicked Witch Mixed Tape, including "It's Funky," "Kill or Be Killed" and "Ride Tonight," plus a new original song, "Possessed." The seven-song set left the crowd begging for more. Stay tuned.
