Scenestars Live! - Blair Combest - Diamond

Friday night I went to Otherlands to check out Blair Combest's solo performance and I asked him if I could tape some songs to put up on this site. He said it was cool and I requested he play my favorite song by him, "Diamond", off his first record Prettier Than Ugly. He was kind enough to oblige even though I am sure he is totally sick of that song. When it came time to record the video, my battery clunked out and I didn't get the whole thing. Luckily, the next night he was sitting in the audience when his girlfriend Holly Cole was playing and I asked him if he wouldn't mind trying again after Holly's set. Since Blair is awesome, he did me the favor of playing it again. That's me in the background with the ridiculous shrill voice.

Blair's latest self-titled release is one of my favorite records to come out this year. He's been getting some pretty great reviews and plans to start touring in the fall. If he comes to your town, you should try to check him out. He does a kick-ass Cory Branan impression. Oh, and be sure to request this song - he loves playing it!
