Cory Branan - Prettiest Waitress in Memphis

I really hate copy and paste reviews, but since I've written about Cory for a while now, let's hear what some other folks have to say:

I remember when I first moved back to Memphis in 2000, all the girls were gah-gah (sp?) over a young singer-songwriter called Cory Branan. Back then he was just a wide-eyed DeSoto County boy with Surfer Ken blond hair and this skin-tight Camaro T-Shirt that he seemed to wear at every single show. I wasn't particularly impressed, although that was mostly to do with the fact that I generally don't like singer-songwriters (Joni Mitchell and Nick Drake are among the most obvious exceptions). However, I couldn't deny the fact that the guy could work the room -- especially the ladies -- with his aw-shucks persona, or that charisma simply oozed from the beat-up acoustic guitar that was as often a prop as an actual instrument. The kid could go places, I thought.
