It's The Leak-End For 2/3 - 2/5-: Sufjan Stevens, Morrissey, The Raconteurs
Well this week was filled with music leakage sprouting from various places throughout the internet. Yes, there was the Built To Spill leak (courtesy of Stereogum) that included the annoying RIAA message -- so as a courtesy to my readers, I've ignored that track. The album, when it comes to you, should prove worth the wait. In the interim, however, The Raconteurs (aka the law firm of White, Benson, Lawrence and Keeler) launched their official website and simultaneously had two tracks appear all over the web this week from their long-awaited debut. The rips of "Steady, As She Goes" and "Store Bought Bones" aren't the best quality but, hopefully, will encourage you to buy the single.
A song from the new Morrissey album Ringleader Of The Tormentors surfaced yesterday. The song, entitled "I Will See You In Far Off Places" has safely scoured the globe already courtesy of a number of bloggers. In case you missed it, have a listen, and bravo to Moz for being, well, Moz. EDIT: Bye Bye Link To Song!
And to top off your leak-end, my favorite new track of the week from Sufjan Stevens which, while sounding like many of his others, makes me happy nonetheless. Check out "Opie's Funeral Song" from Mews TOO: An Asthmatic Kitty Compilation.
Just for a laugh, and since these will disappear in a few days anyways, here's a song from the fucking hilarious and ass-kickingly awesome new Eagles of Death Metal CD entitled Death By Sexy entitled "Chase The Devil". Cough cough cough, yeah.
