The Spinto Band - Oh Mandy

My new favorite way to find new music is to peruse profiles on Myspace. Ok, that's not exactly true, actually I just happen to find new music during my daily stalking. Anywho, I happened upon this song from The Spinto Band a few weeks ago and kept returning to the profile page it was on just to hear it. Then I realized that I could just as easily visit the band's Myspace Page (be sure to check out Crack the Whip while you're there).

After 7 self-released albums, this 6-piece from Delaware released their first record for Bar/None records in 2005 titled Nice & Nicely Done. Consistently described as a cross between The Flaming Lips and Pavement, The Spinto band churn out danceable indie pop that's multi-layered and very energetic. Luckily for our English cousins, they'll be touring across the pond in January 2006. Hey, wait a minute - it is January 2006!
