a-ha - Take On Me (Video)

Last night's episode of The Family Guy made me realize that one of the funniest moments of the show might have been lost on people who weren't savvy. In fact, I was talking to my cousin today on the phone and mentioned the scene to him, and he said, "Yeah that was totally random. What the heck was that?" See, not everyone grew up watching MTV religiously, and not everyone has ever seen the video for a-ha's classic song "Take On Me". I could never have imagined living my childhood without seeing these Norwegian superstars on my screen at least twice a day for a very long time.

It was a groundbreaking video for the day, blending live action and hand-animated cells to deliver a potent (if often quirky) love story between Morten Harket and the young lady whom he pulls into his comic book. I'll probably get my ass beaten by someone for this, but if you don't have a high-speed connection it won't really matter too much - you shouldn't download this on 56K and it's not a stream. Download and watch the video for yourself, then go back and watch last night's TFG again.
