ESG - Moody

It's kind of hard to post about an old band and not sound cheesy (or that may just be a personal problem) and not just re-hash everything that's already been said. So I'll just give you the basics: Some sisters and a neighbor dude got together in 1980s New York and made a stripped down funk/dance band. A South Bronx Story is a compilation of their first releases on small labels. They draw comparisons to A Certain Ratio. Their songs have been used by many DJs and producers for dance and rap samples - particulary the song UFO, which I tried to find an mp3 of but no such luck, not even on Alta Vista or Technorati. But I did find a live song and another mp3. Just for you... three people that haven't heard ESG.

So if you're afraid of purchasing music on the Internet or if you want to support your local independent record shop you're either going to find cd/lp in the "alternative" or "indie" section or in the "rap/hip-hop" section, which is where I came across mine. If your record store is really anal you'll probably find it in the "no-wave" section. But if you do shop online buy it at Insound. Okay, that's it. Oh yeah, bonus tracks:
