Electronicat - Rainbow Massaker

Every once in a while - you hear an album that causes you to utter the phrase "what the fuck is that?" This is what happened when my friend Jim had the most recent Electronicat album, Voodoo Man, tweaking it's way along in the background.

Electronicat is the electro-rock, distorto-fest of one Fred Bigot. Lazy vocals, intertwined with deeeep analog, distorted guitar works with more wah wah than your mom would ever allow, and that tweaky kinda vibe that appeals to the likes of me in ways that few bands can. Parts of Voodoo Man play out like that one movie David Lynch never got around to finishing - the one he was making about electro punks. Not that David ever was, but if he did - well, you get the idea.

Upon listening to this album the first few times, I caught myself looking at the speakers quite a bit, as he incorporates little clicks and buzzes that come off as interferance or switches being thrown that your stereo is picking up. All in all - an odding pleasing, gritty trip.
