Xploding Plastix - Treat Me Mean I Need The Reputation

I am not one to usually compare one band to another, as try to see each band as a unique creation and sound, but I fully realize that musicians are influenced by one another. So in saying that .... it seems that this early Xploding Plastix album, Amateur Girlfriends Go Proskirt Agents (Beatservice 2001), was heavily influenced by my muse, Amon Tobin. Keep in mind that not all this Olso based duo are Amonesque - but what a place to start.

Amateur Girlfriends Go Proskirt (and I had to type that again cuz it's a great title) is quite a bit of work - cinematic jazzscapes, laiden with organic beats and jagged melodies. Every track captures attention and the imagination. Confident musical stuctures with trickster science-beats and that warm-n-fuzzy analog vibe. They keep a very live feel to this album - laced with sensuality and smokey funk.
