Skeewiff - Nitty Gritty
The union of these two has blessed us with some of the deepest funkified dancefloor cuts to hit this humble planet since the 7I don't know when. Previously signed to Ministry of Sound's now defunct breakbeat label FSUK, they had an early hit with the huge single Mucho Mamba in the late 90s. Since leaving MOS they set up Jalapeno Records where they produce under a number of different aliases including IKON, Plan B (with Ali B) and Shaft. After numerous EP's Cruise Control is the second full-length Skeewiff album.
Cruise Control is more than infectious - it's addictive. Heavy on the organs, healthy doses of horns, serious riffs and beatsa-plenty. A feel good album to end all feel goods. One cannot listen to this without cracking a smile - unless you take music too seriously, which one should never do. Someone, please show me the dancefloor!
They have a number of tracks available on their website if you wanna here some more. Check em out - then get laid out!
