Qypthone - Moustache

Ah Japan! Home to many wonderous and totally outrageous bands. One of which are the wacked out kids of Qypthone. Having always been a fan of lounge and bossa at modern speeds, I am a total slave to those who keep this style alive and inject it with their own flair. Qypthone are the Shibuya-Kei style at it's most pure. Their album, Montuno no.5 (2002), is a really charming and enjoyable album in all departments - music, lyrics, voice, and synth use.. Their pop melodies are a distinctive blending of 60's retro sounds and modern dance music.

Bossa, Mondo Beat, Techno-pop, Exotica - too many styles to even try to list. Everything they create tends to have "party go lucky' written all over it - in spades. Catchy beyond words and uplifting to a quirky degree, Qypthone uses a good line up of instruments to keep the listener deeply amused. A sugary sweet quintet with lead singer Izumi Ookawara and musician/producer Takeshi Nakatsuka being the driving force behind the band. Their upbeat sound will be sure to lift your spirits and get you grooving - well, it does for me anyway (*^_^*)
