Tree Wave - Sleep

Having been raised on the likes of the now dead line of Commodore computers, when someone like Tree Wave comes along I have to do a double take. And why you ask? Well, lucky you I am gonna tell ya. But first, listen to the posted track, then read the rest of this.

You done? Moving on. Everything you heard in that wonderously layred and emotional, driving piece was entirley composed using the following: a 1977 Atari 2600, game console, a 1986 portable 286 PC, a 1983 Commodore 64 computer, and a 1985 Epson dot matrix printer. The organic quality that Tree Wave is able to produce form these antiquated systems is almost beyond belief. Paul Slocum, that would be one half of Treewave, writes custom software to utilize these no-longer-dusty machines as his instruments. The other half of the band is Lauren Gray - the sultry voice that puts a healthy second coat of emotion on their works.

It is this unqiue blend of music and technology that has had Tree Wave flown from their home in Dallas to NYC to play at the New York Underground Film Festival. They have opened for The Polyphonic Spree, and have an upcoming tour of France, as well as many other performances. Their live shows include full screen, C64 generated graphics to complete the package.
