Girl Called Eddy - Golden

A lack of inspiration and a very full social schedule has kept your's truly from posting anything for a hot minute. But you'll be happy to know, after a little hormone induced retail therapy yesterday, I got a few new tracks to lay on ya this week. And stay tuned for some cool interviews coming up over the next couple of weeks, yo.

I had been meaning to pick up this album from the Erin Moran project Girl Called Eddy since I downloaded the free track on her site Tears All Over Town. It kind of reminded me of Concrete Blonde lite. The rest of the album, written with former Pulp guitarist and acclaimed solo artist Richard Hawley, definitely has a contemporary Carpenters feel. I don't think that I would be going out on a limb to say she's a fan (hey, wait a minute! As a matter of fact, she lists Karen as a hero on her site, along with Brian Wilson, Paul McCartney, Burt Bacharach and Bowie!)
