Why can't pop music be sweet and stupid and goofy and fun all at the same time? Silver Sun don't seem to be bothered by this notion at all. This handsome four-piece power pop band from London have been making this kind of stuff since 1996 and they do it quite well. In 2000, they took a self-imposed hiatus and came back with over 200 songs to choose from! I mean, 200 songs...how do you choose ten? Apparently they did and clearly, the time off didn't hurt them at all -- Disappear Here delivers exactly what it promises. Filled with ripping three-minute symphonies, Redd Kross would be proud to call these guys their kids. The single, "Bubblegum," is fantastic and bouncy, but if you love burning, chunky power pop, there's a lot to choose from on this album. I've also gone to the trouble to include one of my other favorites from the album, "Garlic," as a bonus.
