Lizz Fields - I Gotta Go

On the new cover of her debut album, re-released in the U.S. on ABB Soul (Sa-Ra, Peven Everett), Lizz Fields looks like even more of a babe than on the original, which came out in 2003 on the UK label Unisex.

The third track on "By Day By Night," "When I See Love," was a huge track on the Gilles Peterson show on BBC Radio 1, but I chose to give y'all the first single, "I Gotta Go," because I love this loping beat and those silky Rhodes chords courtesy of producer Damon Bennett. Dig Fields' voice, fragile and expressive with just a touch of sass, reminiscent of fellow Philly girl Jill Scott.
