Ryan Adams - La Cienga Just Smiled
I tried to post this morning, but BLOGGER SUCKS. Just sayin'.
I'm not much in the mood these days to bring you the cool and hip. I've been sticking to the trusted and comfortable. If you're feeling sorry for yourself, there's nothing better than grabbing Ryan Adam's Gold CD and curling up in your bed with the blanket over your head. Adam's sentiments on this album are so sincere and heartfelt, it's one of those overlooked gems that if you really get it, you'll be listening to it for the rest of your life. You'll be pulling it out and giving it to your kids when they first start getting interested in music. It's really that good.
This is my first holiday season to be single in 10 years and the choice is starting to catch up with me. If you replaced La Cienga with Greenwich Street then this track could have been written specifically for me. It's always seemed funny to me that we revere artists and musicians for being able to communicate their emotions so eloquently, then we all run around everyday in real life trying to pretend that we don't have any.
