Rufus Wainwright featuring Dido - I Eat Dinner

I went to see Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason Saturday night. It was awful. I know a lot of people have said that it is better than the first film but I thought it was pretty silly. Everything except for this song. I connected to the scene where this song was used and immediately sought it out. In my half-assed research, I found that this song was originally recorded by Wainright's mum, folk singer Kate McGarrigle.

While the rest of the soundtrack seems tired and dated, including Jamie Cullum’s version of Everlasting Love and Sting and Annie Lennox's collaboration on his 1987 track We’ll Be Together, this song is almost worth the cost of the CD alone. The entire album consists of either re-worked covers or songs that are at least a few yesrs old, but this track plays newer than the rest, even though it's probably the oldest song on the record.
