Adult. - Nite Life

Often credited as the band that set the tone for the electro/new wave/punk revival, Adult. takes a little while to grow on you. At least, it did for me. When I first heard Nicola Kuperus' vocals I thought she sounded vacant, then I came to appreciate her detachment. The Detroit based fashion photographer is also known for the cold and sterile mood that permeates her photographs with a minimum of nature and comfort, just like her voice. Kuperus' partner in crime is fellow Detroit based Adam Lee Miller, a fairly well known artist and painter. They also record under the name Plasma Co. and they run their own record label Ersatz Audio. They're so busy, I need a nap.
