Random Factor - Too Fast

Random Factor is arguably the most accomplished of the several projects helmed by Carl A. Finlow. While most of Finlow's work (albeit exceptional) falls squarely in "electro" ballpark, Random Factor defies easy classification. Random Factor's material is defined only by its sub-genre straddling, quietly-funky depth and very, very subtle homage. "Convergence" is Finlow's second outing under the moniker, and I believe it to be his masterpiece by a damn sight. Every sound on the record seems perfecly chosen, tweaked as though Finlow was raised by a Shaolin master with obsessive-compulsive disorder. Every track is brilliant for its understated furor. "Too Fast" is what I feel to be the LP's highest point. It revives the Coil-reminiscent vocals that characterized the first Random Factor song that ever turned my head - the absolutely fucking brilliant "Broken Mirror" - while again hybridizing the oft-nitpicked dance music subgenres (they really should be cross-bred to the point of extinction anyway). Finlow could in fact be the second coming of the Christ, but I doubt it. Forgive my passion. I really, really like Random Factor. For that very reason, I have included not one, but count 'em, TWO bonus tracks.
