Pigmeat Markham - Who Got The Number

Known more for his comedy routines than his music, Markham was one of Black America's most popular entertainers in the 50's. Music or stand up, this man is/was quite funny (he died of a stoke in 1981). I am hard pressed to find out who the band is behind Mr. Markham, but damn they groove! This track is pulled from the soulified collection, Mojo Club Dancefloor Jazz Vol.9. Note on the bonus track below - His 'Here Comes The Judge' routine became a hit comedy record in the 1960s and became a catch phrase on the 'Laugh-In' television show.
