The Music - Freedom Fighters

Alright all of you secret headbangers, The Music has a new album coming out and it's just what you've been waiting for. The release date is October 19th but it's not even listed on Amazon yet! Try Wal-Mart! Anyway, the official website descibes them as indie rock, but they're a little more Zepplinesque than Pavement. At least if I saw moshers at a Music show I wouldn't burst out into uncontrolable laughter. They're playing at Webster Hall during CMJ this year.

Alright, who wants to hear my super-secret-hipster-music-tip? Volunteer at CMJ! Seriously, I did it for two years when I lived in NYC. I spent the day meeting all of the bands and picking up free promo CD's, then for three nights I went to see all the bands that I liked FOR FREE! I could relay memories of drunken nights with unsigned bands, but name-dropping is so durst!
