Guided By Voices - Hold On Hope

So, Guided By Voices is breaking up, I'm sure you've heard. Considering there have been over 40 musicians that have played on their albums, I've pretty much always considered GbV to essentially be Bob Pollard and whoever he could round up when he felt like recording an album. So, the whole break-up cry is a little melodramatic, dontcha think? Anyway, GbV was indie when indie wasn't cool. They've been around forever but still maintain a cult-like fanbase. They're website feels like it was set-up by a school teacher from Akron, Ohio - not something that is there to promote a band that's the cornerstone of the alt-rock movement.

My favorite record of their's by far is 1999's Ric Okasek produced Do The Collapse. This is sacrilege to many purists. But as we all know, I don't care.
