Ollabelle - Elijah Rock

I went to see Ryan Adams Tuesday night (he was awesome, btw, even if he did pull a Ryan Adams) and Ollabelle was the opening band. Although my companions for the evening were less than impressed with this NYC based 6 peice, I was kind of intrigued. What started out as a side project for a bunch of musicians to get together and do a gospel night at 9C in the east village evolved into something all of it's own and a record soon followed. It was passed onto T-Bone Burnett of Oh Brother Where Art Thou? fame and five days later he was on a plane to NYC to sign them. Anyway, I'm digging them. Kind of makes me wanna get right with Jesus.
