Green Day - American Idiot

I've always really loved Green Day. You can laugh if you want but I am a Generation X'er and part of the original alternative nation, so sue me. I wore Chuck Taylors in eighth grade and wrote Black Flag and Circle Jerks on the soles, but I never really got into punk until it got the pop edge that so many people today say killed the genre. I was 13 and a poseur, it's ok, I'm at peace with it now.

Anyway, for their rock opera American Idiot, the guys from GD are mad at the state of the nation and they're not taking it anymore. It's getting mixed reviews so far. There's 21 songs on the disc and they're trying some new things, breaking out of the three chord, two and a half minute routine. I think it's great. They're on tour right now and put on a great show. Release date is September 21st.
