Cowboy Bebop - Cats On Mars

Yes, it's an anime soundtrack post. I usually don't groove on the offerings of japanese anime music very much (usually beyond sappy and lacking in head-nodabilty to say the least) - but the soundtrack to Cowboy Bebop is a large exception. Yoko Kanno & The Seatbelts masterfully create 3 cd's worth of everything from lazy acoustic slide guitar blues, 40's style pop, quirky techno to modern ambient jazz. Now, don't get me wrong - not all of the tracks are anime gold. If I pulled together all of the tracks I deemed worthy of a listen, it'd be more like one cd - but a very full cd. At any rate, here's to anyone that can break the traditional anime soundtrack blahs...
