I love disco, especially underground disco. I have loved this song for as long as I can remember. But it was not until recently that I learned of the heavy involvement of clasically-trained cellist Arthur Russell in the insemination of dance music in the New York of the mid to late 70's. He worked (as producer, cellist, etc... ) on a laundry list of underground classics with legends like Larry Levan, Francois Kevorkian, and of course, Loose Joints. "The World of Arthur Russell" was released this year, and it features a sizable compliment of some 12" singles I have been searching for for years on one cd.
