Pavement - Range Life

Here's a blast from the past. Back in 1994, at the height of the Grunge Era, Pavement were creating the indie scene with their messy, jangly rock and almost confessional lyrics. Lead singer Stephen Malkmus made you feel like he was telling you a secret, it was just hard sometimes to figure out exactly what his point was. Back in the day when only your hillbilly uncle would be caught dead wearing a trucker hat, they were the original hipsters, with their too-small t-shirts, cords and shaggy haircuts. Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain introduced them to the MTV generation with the college radio hit Cut Your Hair, but I always preferred Range Life. It's still the perfect song to listen to as you make your way home from the bar - alone.
